Wonderful Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!! Last night while figuring out what time we needed to wake up the next morning, I asked my husband what day it was tomorrow, he said Wednesday, of course! It must not have clicked because today I thought it was Tuesday. I've had to remind myself what day it is a few times today! But hey I can handle that, Wednesday is one day closer to Friday! :D

This week we are loving....

1. Wreck it Ralph. We saw it last night for the first time. We both really liked it! Scott made a good observation that, in a lot of Pixar movies the main character is a small young girl with black hair, and really big eyes. For example Boo from Monster Inc. Mavis from Hotel Transylvania. Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph. and the youngest girl from Despicable Me. Those are just a few we thought of, but if you think about it, its kind of a common thing they got going on!

2. Date Night on Tuesday Night! Which equals a total of 6 people in the theater, including us. haha that seems to happen to us often....but bonus: you get to sit WHEREVER you want, and you can dance crazy and feel silly in front of only 4 people instead of a whole theater!

3. The MASS load of cereal we were sent home with last weekend! Thanks mom and dad!! ;) That'll keep us for a while!

4. The idea that it COULD be in the 30's and sunny on Sunday!! I'm crossing my fingers for it already!!

5. A love hate relationship deciding our future. It is exciting and scary all at the same time. Scott is in the process of looking through different majors and career options! We know it'll all work out in the end and be what is best for us!

It felt like summer for a minute!

We have not been swimming for the longest time (probably the fact that it was winter) but we went this weekend and it was a blast!! And even though it was snowing and freezing when we left, it was worth it. We got a little taste of summer and oh how wonderful it was! The Lehi pool is the definition of "kid fun". There is a big jungle gym, a small one for little kids, a whirl pool and a big slide! We went with my brother and his family, my sister and her family and my other sister. So a total of five kids; which was a little crazy to keep track of them all but they were so fun! Then after, we enjoyed some pizza and a movie! The whole day was so fun, we love being able to visit family and spend time with them! I wish we lived closer!

We also said goodbye for 18 months to Grandpa and Grandma Scott who are leaving on their mission in a few weeks! They did a great job on their talks in church! Its funny to see their differences and similarities! Then we ate lots and lots of yummy food and enjoyed time with family!! :D

It is always so fun going home for the weekend, especially being able to see both sides of the family! We love our family so much and are so grateful for all that they do for us!! As always, the weekend was eventful and fun!!

ps. sorry for no pictures, I really need to work on that. I know its more fun to read a post that has pictures in it. It must been a kid thing we all cant get over, but i'm fine with that!

What to do, What to do???

I'm sure we all have this dilemma every so often, and ask this question:

"Do I grow out my hair or cut it short?"

????

Well....that's what I've been asking myself lately. and I honestly don't know!!! Its been driving me slightly crazy.... I see so many girls with such pretty long hair and it makes me want long hair! But then I have to ask myself,  "even if I had long hair would it look full and luscious like that?"  But on the other hand, short hair is so much faster and easier!

Long hair is so pretty!
and short hair is so cute!!
So PRETTY vs CUTE??
Who will the winner be?? I don't have the slightest idea folks!

Short Hair

vs

Long Hair
(this obviously isn't me, but you get the idea, I couldn't find a long hair picture of me)

What do you think????

Wonderful Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Here are some simple things we are loving right now....

1. Three day weekends!
Even though we didn't do anything exciting, the extra day was nice!!

2. Chicken Tacos for dinner!
We have been eating these a lot lately because they are fast, easy and super yummy! All you need is shredded chicken. (I boil a large chicken breast(for the two of us) for about 20 minutes, then put it in the kitchen aid mixer to shred it while adding taco seasoning and cayenne pepper). You also need a can of corn, black beans (which can be heated up in the microwave) and tortillas. We fry our tortillas just cuz we like the extra crunchy texture! Put it all together like a taco, add ranch and it is perfect!!!!

3. Help from the hubby!!
So every class decided to have something due this week or multiple things due so it is super busy!! and I have been so tired lately....and therefore I am loving all the help that my dear husband is willing to give. He does things that he knows I need without me even saying anything! I love him so much and am so thankful for all that he does for me!

4. Good books!
Right now Scott is loving the book he got for Valentines day on Hope. When I wasn't distracting him on Sunday he got some good reading in which he loved! He probably could have done more if my nap lasted longer haha ;)

5.Taxes.
Lastly....we are loving that our taxes are done and we're getting a nice return back!! Woowho!

Hope you are enjoying your Wednesday!! :D

A Journal???

Yes, this is kind of a Journal for us. We want to be able to remember things to be able to tell fun stories to our children, but you know what, sitting down and writing in a journal often is just not gonna happen. As much as I love it, right now I just don't have the time. But I fear...this blog/journal is just as bad!! I have 2 unfinished posts of "weekend Recaps" from the past two weekends...and we're coming up on a  new weekend! :/ That is Trouble, Trouble with a capital T. I am slightly behind. And the weekends hold some serious Journal Worthy happenings! So this is going to be a recap of the past two weekends! Then I will be on track for this weekend! And resolve right now to do better! uh huh, I do! Believe me okay!

2-1-13 through 2-3-13

Sleeping in + morning muffins + P90X + running errands + date night + church +  naps + bunt cake + new movie = our weekend.  I LOVE weekends. We need more of them. When Monday rolls around, I'm usually not ready for it (probably cuz I didn't do any homework so I have to catch up) but the weekends just seem to go by fast!

Both Saturday and Sunday we spent the ENTIRE day together. :D ah I love days like that!! It is so much fun!

Saturday morning, the bright sun peeked through our blinds onto our bed. The only reasonable thing to do when that happens is to lay in it...and fall asleep! I cant even tell you, my skin was dying for some Vitamin D that that dear sun provided for an hour!! It was divine! The only bummer part is it made me think that it was Spring, when in reality it was not! I was mad when I had to go out in the 20 degree weather, realizing that it was just a clear WINTER day...not spring.

For our date this last weekend we went out to dinner to El Sol. It was aight! We decided our picks for Mexican are Cafe Rio and La Tora Viejo (I think I spelled that wrong). But we give those two a 10 out of 10 and El Sol a 5 out of 10. Sorry El Sol. :(

 (loving some Horchata)
Then we went home and played Life. Seriously that was soo much fun! I haven't played that game in ages but I remembered how much I loved it!! The movie, "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" has been on our list for a bit now, so we watched it. If you watch it you must know, its a little weird in some parts, really sad, but very heart warming. I definitely cried a ton and Scott held back some tears, cuz he is tough and I am not haha! But it was worth it, I would totally watch it again!

And this is our cute bundt cake we made with our Bundt Cake Maker thanks to my brother and Sister in Law Derek and Nesha! Thanks guys!! It looks like a giant donut! YUM!

2-8-13 through 2-10-13

This weekend we went home to the Wuthrich's. The purpose of the trip was a Valentine's Party with all the couples in the Fam. Everyone dressed up as a famous couple and kept it a secret! Scott and I were so excited about the couple we decided to be. We both LOVE this movie! We were the couple from the movie "UP". We decided to go young....so we dressed up as Carl and Ellie when they were kids! Glasses, overalls, aviator hat, balloon...the whole thing baby! Everyone at the party "knew" who we were but they didn't know our names which didn't count. haha! Everyone looked great! and were really hard to guess. I think we got 3 out of like 12. oops! I wish we had pictures but we don't unfortunately. :(

We did some Target shopping where I found me some gems! $3 shirt, pink skinnies, and mint green polka dot skinnies! Love them! Then we just hung out and spent some time with everyone which is always fun! Overall the weekend was great and so much fun like always!!

NOW for a 3 day weekend coming up!!! Love it! Except for the boatload of homework that awaits both of us :(  Knowing us we'll get distracted for a minute and do something fun for sure! Sorry for the novel of a post! It wont happen again...hopefully ;)

Valentines Day #1

This year we spent our first Valentines together! It was so much fun!! Its hard to surprise each other when you live in very close quarters and you don't spend too much time home alone! So the night before I was banned from the living room and he was banned from the kitchen while be both worked on our gifts for each other!
On Valentines Day morning we started the day with some cuddling of course, getting ready for the day, then a surprise of a "heart attack" around the living room (with paper hearts) and giant muffins for Scott!! Which was quite the adventure making them. They were sooo dense! One box fit into 6 giant molds! They were tasty though! and he loves muffins so I thought it would be a fun breakfast!!

He then opened one of his presents from me because I knew he could use them at work all day! Scott is all about practical/need based gifts so its kind of hard to shop for him and make it fun! He needed shoe inserts and he showed me which ones a while back! Well I knew he forgot about them so it would be a surprise to him that I got them, and it was! haha or else that would have been super lame!

Then we did the work and school boring stuff until 5! Our reservation to Gia's was at 6. So we got ready, opened a few more gifts and headed out! (forgetting the wallet might I add). It was our first time being at Gia's so we were pretty excited. Its a small Italian restaurant here in Logan. We rated it about an 8 out of 10. It is a little more pricey and less food than you would get at Olive Garden. But it was fun because of it's fanciness and classiness.

So dinner ended and we got the check....BUT I had Scott's card in my wallet and my wallet wasn't with me. oopsie....so we did the whole embarrassing "we forgot our card, we need to run home and get it". So I awkwardly sat there for 20 minutes while Scott ran home and got the card. I felt so bad, but Scott was definitely patient with me, thank goodness. Thanks Babe!

We realized that we had never been Ice Skating and its been a while for both of us so we decided to make that our activity! Unfortunately it was only for an hour but it was so fun! I used to go skating quite a bit in high school with my friends but it is crazy how fast you lose a skill if you don't use it and practice! That being said, I fell a few times a was a little wobbly! But it was still good fun!

We decided to make a treat at home which was just vanilla and chocolate pudding with whip cream. There were supposed to be strawberries but we didn't act fast enough before there was a serious strawberry outage. That's alright it was still good! We ate that while we watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Classic.

And my favorite part for the whole night. One last gift exchange. I had been super excited for it! I got Scott a  book on Hope that he has been wanting for a while! He wasn't expecting it so it was a good surprise for him!! :D and he is such a sweetheart and made me a scrapbook/story rap of our story together! It had pictures and everything! He worked so hard on it! Homemade gifts are my favorite! I seriously loved it! I may have gotten teary eyed through it and had to have Scott finish reading it, just cuz I loved it so much, and I love him soooo much!!!!

It was a simple, fun, romantic Valentines day!!! What a great way to start out!!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Valentines day is such a fun day! It is so fun to do a little extra for the people that you love! Showing love is an everyday thing but today we get to celebrate it just a little bit more than normal! I love how simple it can be yet so special! Scott and I have a simple night planned of dinner and ice skating! But I know it will be great because it always is! I love him so so much! I'm so lucky to be able to call him my husband! I love all of my family. They are wonderful and have blessed my life so much! I don't know what I would do without them! and that includes my new Wuthrich family! There is so much fun and love going on in that family! :) I'm so lucky to be apart of it! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ ! I love my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

I'm so thankful for love. Love can conquer all. Love encompasses so much. The good, the bad, the pretty and the ugly, and that's what makes it such an amazing thing. Love is wonderful, lets celebrate it!! Thanks St. Valentine, you genius!  :D Happy Valentines Day everyone! I hope you know your loved!

Wonderful Wednesday (on Thursday)

A day late but written none the less!
This week we made Creamy Broccoli Soup, its one of our faves! It is so fast and easy! I don't really do measurements anymore so it turns out a little different each time but that makes it exciting! Here is the (general) recipe....

about 4 medium potatoes, or 6 small
2 carrot sticks, Medium sized
a medium sized head of broccoli
about a cup of Sour Cream
Can of Cream of Chicken soup
Salt and Pepper to taste.

Start a pot of boiling water. Peal and cut the potatoes. Place in the pot when water is boiling. Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then add pealed and cut carrots and cut broccoli to the pot. Add about a teaspoon of salt. Put the lid on and cook until the veggies are soft! The water should be at the level of the veggies in the  pot as it cooks. Before you mash drain some water so some of the veggies are uncovered.  If you like it creamy, use a potato masher to mash all the veggies, If you like it chunky mash it just a little bit. Its all up to you and your preference. We like it a little more on the chunky side.

Once its mashed add one can of cream of chicken and about a cup or more of sour cream. Stir. Add salt and pepper to taste! That's it! It takes about 20 to 30 minutes total! We love to eat it with bread! Hope you like it! :D
